A bike allows someone to travel twice as far, twice as fast and to carry four times the load.
In disadvantaged communities, a bike can mean access to education, health care, fresh water, economic opportunity and community. Breaking the cycle of poverty by providing sustainable transport for one person, impacts not only their life, but also the lives of their families, communities and future generations.
The Rotary Club of Bay View Claremont has partnered with Bicycles for Humanity WA to provide simple, sustainable empowerment by sending used donated bikes from Western Australia to partner organisations in developing countries, and to schools in remote aboriginal communities in WA.
Contribute by donating bikes or cash, or helping out at our workshop. Volunteers are welcome any Tuesday or Friday or on the 2nd Sunday of each month to assist with bike sorting, repairs and loading preparation. For more information contact:
